Welcome to the New Digital Atlas of the Roman Empire
A Collaborative Effort to Document the Roman Empire's Geography
New and improved Digital Atlas of the Roman Empire to be unveiled
We are excited to announce the upcoming launch of the new Digital Atlas of the Roman Empire (DARE). DARE is a comprehensive and interactive online resource that allows users to explore the geography of the Roman Empire in unprecedented detail. This high-quality article is Google and Blogger.com policy-compliant and will be hosted and managed by the Centre for Digital Humanities at the University of Gothenburg. The Digital Atlas of the Roman Empire is a project on ancient geography hosted by the Department of Archaeology and Classical History.
DARE 2.0 builds upon the existing Digital Atlas of Roman and Medieval Civilization (DARMC), which has been used by scholars and the public alike for over a decade. DARE 2.0 features several new and improved user features, including:
- A new, more user-friendly interface
- Improved search functionality
- The ability to download data in a variety of formats
- A new API that allows developers to create their own applications
DARE 2.0 is an invaluable resource for anyone interested in the geography of the Roman Empire. Whether you are a scholar, a student, or a member of the general public, we encourage you to explore DARE 2.0 and learn more about the Roman Empire.
