Diacre's Side Aiming to Make History at Euro 2025
France boss Corinne Diacre has declared her side's intentions to make history after they overcame defending champions the Netherlands in extra-time to reach the semi-finals of the All European Women's Championship 2025.
France reached their first European Championship semi-final after finally breaking the Netherlands resistance in extra-time. The match was a closely fought affair, with both sides creating chances throughout the game. However, it was France who eventually found the breakthrough, with Melvine Malard scoring the winning goal in the 115th minute.
Diacre was delighted with her team's performance and praised their resilience. "We showed great character and determination to come back from behind and win the game," she said. "We knew it would be difficult against the defending champions, but we never gave up. We're now in the semi-finals, and we're here to make history."
France will face Sweden in the semi-finals, who defeated Belgium in their quarter-final match. The match will take place on 27 July at Bramall Lane in Sheffield.
