Donald Trump A Life In The Public Eye

Donald Trump: A Life in the Public Eye

Early Life and Career

Donald John Trump was born in Queens, New York, on June 14, 1946. His father, Fred Trump, was a successful real estate developer. Trump graduated from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1968 with a degree in economics. He then joined his father's real estate business, the Trump Organization.

Trump became known for his flamboyant lifestyle and his involvement in a number of high-profile real estate projects. In 1977, he married Ivana Zelníčková Winklmayr, a Czech model with whom he had three children. Trump's business ventures were often successful, but he also faced a number of bankruptcies and legal challenges.

Political Career

Trump entered the political arena in 2015, when he announced his candidacy for President of the United States as a Republican. He ran on a populist platform, promising to "make America great again." Trump won the Republican nomination and was elected president in November 2016.

Trump's presidency was marked by controversy. He implemented a number of policies that were unpopular with many Americans, including a travel ban on citizens from several Muslim-majority countries and the withdrawal of the United States from the Paris climate agreement. Trump also faced accusations of racism, sexism, and xenophobia.

Trump was impeached by the House of Representatives in December 2019 for abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. He was acquitted by the Senate in February 2020. Trump lost his bid for re-election in November 2020 to Democratic candidate Joe Biden.

Post-Presidency

Since leaving office, Trump has continued to make public appearances and issue statements. He has also teased a possible run for president again in 2024.
