What Happened?

On Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at approximately 10:30 AM, the Orinda Police Department responded to a report of a suspicious person in the 100 block of Via Las Cruces. Upon arrival, officers contacted the reporting party, who stated that they had observed a male subject acting strangely in the area.

Officers conducted a search of the area and located the subject, who was identified as 35-year-old Orinda resident, John Doe. Doe was found to be in possession of several items of stolen property, including a laptop, a wallet, and a cell phone.

What's Next?

Doe was arrested and booked into the Martinez Detention Facility on charges of possession of stolen property. The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges may be filed.
